After serving the area for nearly 60 years, the doors at Olinger Moore Howard Chapel closed for the last time in early 2019. Beginning in the 1980s, Olinger Eastlawn Cemetery began providing a beautiful setting for memorialization in Aurora and Eastern Denver. We believe that every veteran deserves a dignified and honorable burial. The Dignity Memorial® Homeless Veterans Burial Program provides homeless and indigent veterans proper military burials.

The memorial includes 13 black granite crosses, each with a person's name and portrait. The huge illuminated cross along Highway 285 above Morrison was built by Francis VanDeber in 1964 so his wife could see his final resting spot from her home in Denver. The cross has guided Denverites across the city for years, and is visible from as far as Aurora on a clear day.
